School Dinners
Fresh and locally sourced produce for healthy, nutritious and delicious dinners
At Tirlebrook Primary School, we are proud to provide the children who attend our school with high quality, great tasting hot meals using locally sourced produce. Wherever possible, we use seasonal ingredients.
All food is freshly prepared and cooked by our trained kitchen staff in our on-site 5-star hygiene rated kitchen.
Each day, children have the choice of a main or vegetarian option meal, served with potatoes, pasta and vegetables. A fresh salad bar is provided daily with a range of choices including lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, cucumber and sweetcorn with the option of fresh bread being provided also. A homemade dessert, cold sweet or fruit are on offer daily.
Our menus are designed to provide children with an appetising meal that forms part of a healthy and balanced diet.
If children have food allergies, intolerances or any dietary requirements, parents must inform the school office so that our catering staff are aware and are able to provide meals for all children who would like them.
Examples of some of the delicious meals on our school menu include:
- sausage and onion casserole with mashed potatoes
- spaghetti and meatballs
- tuna and pasta bake
- vegetable curry with rice
- toad in the hole with diced potatoes
- jumbo fish finger with chips
School meals are priced at £2.50 per meal for children in Years 3-6.
All infant children (children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) are entitled to enjoy a free school meal (FSM). Some children in Years 3-6 may be eligible to receive a free school meal if certain criteria is met.

Families who would like their children to enjoy a school meal should order and pay for meals at least a week in advance so we can ensure our catering staff can order all necessary produce and ingredients and that all children are provided with the meal of their choice. Meal choices and payment can be made through our online payment service ScoPay.
