Year 4 spent the day experiencing what is was like to be an ancient Greek heading bravely into battle on land and sea against the Persians before performing traditional stories about the Gods at the Greek theatre. The children dressed up as Greek Gods and Goddesses and learned about hierarchy in Ancient Greek society, finding out who was allowed to vote and who was the most important! The children even competed against each other in chariot racing and wrestling at the Olympics! It was an amazing day, with the children recalling what they had already learned about Ancient Greece and absorbing new facts about Gods and Goddesses and how the Greeks were defeated by the Persians. The workshop leader was very impressed by the children's enthusiasm and respectful behaviour.
